A Moment I Enjoyed With My Family
Last Friday, after having dinner, my family and I left for Malaysia for my cousin's wedding. It was a 4 hour journey by car and my dad drove. My mum had already left for Malaysia earlier that morning by herself. Although I was tired, I tried my best to stay awake through the whole journey. But I still fell asleep!
When I woke up, we had already arrived at my 7th's aunty's place. As it was already late and after having a long and tiring day, we decided to go to bed early. But with all the excitement waiting for us the following day, I was really unable to sleep!
The next morning, I woke to the sound of my family and relatives busy getting ready to leave for what we chinese call a 'tea ceremony' at my uncle's house. It is a chinese custom practiced during weddings where the bride and groom 'offer' tea to their elders as a sign of respect. As my mother has 14 brothers and sisters, it was no wonder we relatives took the oppurtunity to catch up with one another after not meeting for quite some time. It's really amazing how I can remember so many of my relatives! After the tea ceremony, my relatives and I had lunch at my 5th uncle's house. Not long after, we all started to leave as we all had to get ready for the long awaited main event of the day, the wedding dinner.
Just like every other girl, all my female cousins, including my sister, started trying out what they were going to wear upon reaching home. In the mean time, all of us male cousins, having nothing to do, decided to create a video specially for my cousin who was getting married. We all had alot of fun while doing it. For we had never done such a thing before so we really wanted this first attempt to be special and unique for the bride and groom.
Why of course time flew by really quickly and soon it was time for us to bathe and get ready for the wedding dinner.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, most of my relatives were already there and we were all given our places to sit. Before the dinner begin, the beautiful bride and handsome groom walked in with confetti flying everywhere and music playing to welcome them. The wonderful night was accompanied with laughter and singing having fun together as one big family. And of course my cousin loved the video! This was truly a moment I enjoyed and will remember with my family. Moogalia!
